ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned an additional 75 MW capacity at its ACME Sikar solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This follows the earlier commissioning of 165 MW at the project site, bringing the total commissioned capacity to 240 MW out of a planned 300 MW. With this addition, the company’s total operational renewable energy capacity has reached 2,806.4 MW.
The ACME Sikar solar project is spread over approximately 1,300 acres in one of India’s highest solar irradiation zones. Renewable energy generated from the site is collected at inverter stations and transmitted via a dedicated single-circuit 220 kV transmission line to the Bikaner-II grid. The project debt is financed by Power Finance Corporation Limited. Upon full commissioning, the project is expected to generate around 780 million units of clean energy annually.
The 300 MW project was secured by ACME Solar under Solar Energy Corporation of India’s interstate transmission system Tranche XVIII auction, at a tariff of Rs 3.05 per kWh. While the power purchase agreement (PPA) is yet to be signed, the tariff has already been adopted. Until the PPA is finalised, electricity from the commissioned 240 MW capacity is being sold on power exchanges under merchant tariffs.
In May 2025, ACME Solar commissioned a 26.4 MW unit of its 50 MW Pokhran wind power project in Shapar, Gujarat, under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.
