Ornate Solar commissioned India’s largest Building Integrated rooftop PV system in Bhagru, Rajasthan for Canada based natural stone manufacturing company – Pangaea Natural Stone Inc.

The InRoof system developed by Ornate’s engineering team had been under testing for 18 months before commercial deployment, and it is the industry’s first universal structural solution which can integrate panels of any shape and size to replace conventional metal roofs.

The 530 kWp InRoof system which has been designed, engineered and manufactured in India would help Pangaea meet their Net Zero goals by offsetting 18,346 Tons of CO2 emissions from the environment.

Pangaea demonstrated their commitment to sustainability by integrating photovoltaic panels as the primary roof over their newly constructed 35,000 sq. ft production facility, thereby saving 124,968 kgs of CO2 that would have been emitted in the production of the steel roof.

The Ornate InRoof system is powered by the latest generation of MLPE Micro Inverters from Enphase Energy, which come with an industry leading 15 year replacement warranty and comply with the highest international safety standards.

1175 nos. of Canadian Solar’s High Efficiency Mono-PERC Solar panels serve the dual purpose of generating energy and acting as an integrated roofing element, replacing trapezoidal sheets.

The indigenously developed InRoof structure consists of special-purpose roll formed continuous (SRFC) sections made from a high-strength steel alloy which are resistant to corrosion and oxidation.

Anodised Aluminium profiles are used to provide a two-layer protection against water ingress and to distribute the static loads of the PV panels across the building purlins.

Precision Engineered structural members have been used to build walkways and ridge profiles which interlock seamlessly with the PV panels and ensure a 100% guarantee against water leakage.

Roof integrated solar systems designed with the proprietary architecture can accommodate 26% more Solar panels than traditional roof mounted systems and have shown to generate over 4-8% more energy, due to free air circulation which lowers module Backsheet temperatures by upto 15 degrees celcius.

Apart from Industrial factories, the InRoof system can also be used for solar parking lots, canopies or facades. Existing parking spaces and sheds can be retrofitted easily with the components being compatible with most prefab steel structure designs.

The company has invested into the manufacturing of the required components at their production facility in New Delhi and is developing a plug and play version of the InRoof system for premium Residential households, which can be installed on terraces, verandahs and balconies.

This is expected to be ready for commercial release to the Indian market by Dec-22.

Ornate Solar is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, having partnered with the World’s leading technology companies to make Solar affordable, reliable & easy for consumers across India. They are committed to making quality products available to the industry and to help consumers make choices which can last them a lifetime.
