Premier Energies Limited and RCT India, part of RCT Group, Germany, have signed a binding term sheet to form a joint venture to set up a 12 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Telangana. The facility will be developed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies Private Limited, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh.
The facility will cater to BESS demand from commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications in India and international markets. Additionally, it will be developed as an export-oriented manufacturing platform to serve international markets from India. Premier Energies will bring its manufacturing capabilities, while RCT will contribute its energy-sector experience, engineering, and international supply-chain network.
