The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar cells, listing nine domestic manufacturers with a cumulative annual production capacity of 13,067 MW. The said list will come into effect from July 1, 2026.
Mundra Solar Energy (Adani) has been enlisted for a capacity of 1,939 MW per year for its bifacial Mono c-Si PERC cells. Mundra Solar has been enlisted for a capacity of 1,893 MW. It manufactures bifacial N-type TOPCon cells. Furthermore, Premier Energies International has been enlisted with a capacity of 1,174 MW per year for its bifacial mono c-Si PERC cells. Premier Energies Photovoltaic has a capacity of 751 MW per year and produces similar bifacial PERC cells.
The list further includes ReNew Photovoltaics’ bifacial Mono c-Si PERC cells with a capacity of 1,766 MW per year. Jupiter International (units 1 and 2) have capacities of 339 MW per year and 440 MW per year, respectively. Both produce mono PERC bifacial solar cells, P Type with an average efficiency of 23.10 per cent and wattage of 7.73 W. SFS India Solar Ventures has the highest enlisted capacity of 3,212 MW per year. The company is listed in the ALMM List-I for solar modules and is deemed to be eligible for inclusion in the ALMM List-II for solar cells. The validity period for all approvals is from July 31, 2025, to July 30, 2029, except for FS India Solar Ventures, for which approval is valid until April 28, 2028.
