NHPC Limited has issued a request for selection to set up 1,200 MW of ground-mounted solar projects at the Jalaun solar park in Uttar Pradesh. The solar park will be developed by Bundelkhand Saur Urja, a joint venture between NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes the development of solar projects up to the interconnection point at the pooling substation’s incoming side, as well as providing the operation and maintenance services. Additionally, the bidders must obtain all required permits and clearances. The bidders may choose any commercially established solar technology to meet the required minimum capacity utilisation factor of 26 per cent. Projects can be executed through a special purpose vehicle. The maximum bid capacity is 600 MW, while the minimum is 300 MW. Selected bidders will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC. The scheduled date for the commencement of power supply is 18 months from the date of signing the PPA. The bidders must submit a money deposit of Rs 100 million. The deadline for bid submission is September 5, 2025.
According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must be a company or a consortium of companies, with one entity acting as the lead member. They must have a minimum net worth of Rs 7.94 million for the quoted capacity as of the end of the preceding financial year or seven days before the bid submission deadline. Additionally, the bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 11.92 million and working capital of Rs 4.41 million for the quoted capacity in the previous financial year.
