Metlen Energy & Metals (METLEN) and Jinko ESS have inked an agreement to establish a partnership for utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). The agreement provides a framework for deploying over 3 GWh of energy storage projects across Chile and European markets.
The partnership builds around the 1.6 GWh project currently underway in Chile. In this project, Jinko ESS is supplying its G2 Utility systems for full delivery of the project by the fourth quarter of 2025. The agreement highlights the commitment of the two companies towards enabling renewable energy adoption through advanced storage solutions.
Earlier in May 2025, METLEN inked new engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy projects in UK with a combined capacity of 313.4 MW. The contracts are for five solar parks and one BESS. Construction on the projects is set to commence at various stages throughout 2025, and all units are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
