Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Continuum Green Energy Limited for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 40 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at wind-solar hybrid sites in Gujarat. The total project cost is estimated at Rs 400 million.
The project will utilise lithium iron phosphate (LFP) based liquid-cooled containerised BESS technology. It will be executed under a Lump Sum Turnkey Project agreement, integrating the solar project into a single battery storage system. The project is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy infrastructure in Gujarat. By incorporating battery storage, it aims to ensure a more stable supply of power for industrial consumers while supporting the state’s transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
Earlier in February, Waaree Group commenced construction of its alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat, with an initial production capacity of 300 MW to support industries such as steel, refining, transportation, fertilisers, chemicals, food, and power generation in their transition to decarbonised processes.
