O2 Power has secured an order to develop an 800 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) under Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited competitive bidding for the firm dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE VI) program.
The BESS project will be strategically located near an operational substation in Rajasthan, leveraging the state’s abundant solar and land resources while utilising existing evacuation infrastructure to ensure minimal delays. It will combine battery storage with solar power to provide firm power during non-solar peak hours. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement.
