Altra Xergi Power, a subsidiary of O2 Power, has secured 200 MW in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 8,000 MWh (2,000 MW x 4 hours) of assured peak renewable energy supply from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected projects under tariff-based competitive bidding (FDRE-VI). The winning bid was at a tariff of Rs 8.50 per kWh. Other participants in the auction were ACME Solar Holdings and Avaada Energy. The total capacity eligible for the award was revised to 656 MW, as per provisions to allocate only 80 per cent of the floated capacity if bids received were less than the intended capacity. A total of 820 MW was bid for in the auction.

Furthermore, projects can be located anywhere in India, with renewable energy components, including storage, either co-located or spread across different sites, connecting to ISTS substations. SECI also permitted partial commencement of power supply, starting with a minimum capacity of 50 MW in the first phase and fulfilling the remaining contracted capacity in subsequent phases. Wind turbine models must be certified and listed under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers, while solar modules must be sourced from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
