Premier Energies to Establish 1 GW Solar Module Plant in Telangana

Premier Energies Global Environment Limited (PEGL), a subsidiary of Premier Energies, has announced plans to establish a 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility at the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) Maheshwaram industrial zone in Telangana. The facility will operate on leasehold premises owned by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.

This initiative is part of Premier Energies’ strategy to enhance its tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) module manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing demand for high-efficiency solar modules. The project is expected to be operational by March 2025. EMCs like the one in Maheshwaram are designed to provide essential infrastructure and shared facilities to attract investments in electronics manufacturing.

In November 2024, Premier Energies Limited secured orders worth Rs 5.60 billion from two domestic IPPs for solar PV modules and cells, with supply scheduled from December 2024 to May 2025.

In August 2024, Premier Energies Limited launched its Rs 28.304 billion IPO with a price band of Rs 427 – Rs 450 per share, with proceeds allocated to corporate purposes and investments in its subsidiary, Premier Energies Global Environment.
