NTPC REL Floats BOS Package Tender for 1,200 MW Solar Project in Gujarat

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the Balance of System (BOS) package for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar project located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The deadline for bid submission is January 14, 2025. 

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to provide a bid security amount based on the project blocks they intend to undertake, with the security amounts being Rs 100 million for one block of 300 MW, Rs 200 million for two or three blocks, and Rs 500 million for all four blocks of the project. The cost of the bidding document is set at Rs 22,500.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project, excluding the supply of solar modules. NTPC REL will provide the solar modules. Bidders are also responsible for designing and constructing foundations, as well as erecting Module Mounting Structures (MMS) with tracker-based technology. They must arrange for power and water supplies required during construction.

According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must have prior experience in developing, designing, supplying, erecting, or supervising the commissioning of BOS for grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW. At least one project should be 10 MW. 

Additionally, bidders must demonstrate an annual turnover of Rs 1 billion for one block of 300 MW, Rs 2 billion for two blocks of 600 MW, Rs 3 billion for three blocks of 900 MW, and Rs 4 billion for all four blocks of 1,200 MW. The bidders must also have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or above, equipped with circuit breakers and power transformers, operational for at least one year or six months before the bid opening date.
