UPEIDA Issues Tender for 500 MW Solar Park Along Bundelkhand Expressway

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has issued a tender inviting bids to develop a solar park of capacity between 450 and 500 MW along the Bundelkhand Expressway. The solar park will be developed on a build-own-operate model. The final date for submitting bids is November 15, 2024.

The solar park will be developed along the 296.07 km stretch of the expressway. The expressway has 15-20 meters of land on both sides of the road which has been designated for the project. A total of 1,700 hectares is available for development. The project agreement has a time period of 25 years from the commercial operation date.

According to the tender guidelines, bidders must submit proposals for a minimum capacity of 50 MW. Bidders are required to pay a document fee of Rs 11,800 and an earnest money deposit of Rs 500,000 per MW. Additionally, bidders should have a net worth of at least Rs 10 million per MW for the contracted capacity. Their minimum average annual turnover in the last three years should have been Rs 15 million per MW. Successful bidders will also need to provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs 1.5 million per MW.

Furthermore, to be eligible, bidders must not have been blacklisted by any government agency or found guilty of serious fraudulent practices by a court or commission, either in India or abroad, as of the bid due date.
