Oriana Power Secures Contract for 128 MW Solar Plant Development in Tamil Nadu

TrueRE Surya Private Limited, a subsidiary of Oriana Power Limited, has bagged a contract from Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, (DCBL) to build and operate a 128 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in Tamil Nadu. It is being constructed under the open access captive solar segment. The plant will be commenced in a year and is estimated to cost Rs 5.2 billon. It is expected to generate 192 million units of electricity once functional.

In line with the agreement, DBCL will acquire 26 per cent of equity share capital of TrueRE Surya for Rs 448 million in multiple tranches.

In September 2024, Oriana Power received an order of Rs 2.47 billion under engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) segment for setting up a 52 MW ground-mounted solar plant for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.  In August 2023, the company bagged an EPC order to establish a 20 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project from Bharat Cooking Coal Limited to be located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
