Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC-REL) for the installation of rooftop solar projects on government buildings across central ministries, states, and union territories.
This initiative, part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojna scheme, seeks to achieve 100 per cent solarisation of government buildings by December 2025. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has designated NHPC Limited as a scheme implementing partner to manage the rooftop solar projects, which will be executed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, NHPC-REL.
