SJVN has issued a request for proposals for selection of developers to establish 1,200 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid projects. The projects will be located in India.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 1.22 million per MW of the quoted capacity as an earnest money deposit. SJVN will enter into power purchase agreement with developers to purchase power for a period of 25 years. SJVN will act as an intermediary procurer by buying the power from hybrid power developers and selling it to various entities in India. Bidders are required to propose a minimum power quantum of 50 MW for projects linked to ISTS. Additionally, at least 33 per cent of the total contracted capacity must come from a single resource (wind or solar), with the maximum power quantum capped at 400 MW. Each bidder, along with its parent company, affiliates, ultimate parent, or any group company, must submit one bid with a contracted capacity between 50 MW and 400 MW. The capacity offered should be quoted in multiples of 10 MW.
In order to minimise technological uncertainties and guarantee the timely commissioning of projects, only commercially proven and operational technologies are allowed for implementation. Furthermore, SJVN has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in list-I of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Additionally, under the tender, only wind-turbine models issued by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.
