Tecnimont Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of Tecnimont that provides integrated E&C solutions, along with NEXTCHEM which offers sustainable technology solutions, has bagged an engineering design study order for the project to be located in India. Awarded by Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, the order is the first phase of front-end engineering design for a green ammonia plant to be located in India.
The project will employ NEXTCHEM’s digital tool architecture of hydrogen systems (ArcHy) to tackle issues associated with the intermittency of renewable power usage. This strategy is intended to enhance the efficiency of both capital expenditure and operational expenditure over the plant’s entire lifecycle. ArcHy will use renewable energy production data collected over a year under different weather conditions to size components like electrolysers, storage systems, and green ammonia production facilities. This approach aims to minimise the plant’s levelised cost of ammonia. The contract requires Tecnimont to design all aspects of the facility and provide specialised engineering services tailored to meet both sustainability and operational needs.
Recently, in July 2024, Tecnimont in collaboration with NEXTCHEM inaugurated the first green hydrogen production plant for GAIL (India) Limited located in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh.
