Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has commissioned a 180 MW solar power plant at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The next-generation bifacial solar photovoltaic modules and horizontal single axis solar trackers have been deployed to maximise generation. The plant is equipped with waterless robotic module cleaning systems, enabling water conservation in the barren region of Jaisalmer.
Furthermore, the plant has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India. The plant will produce approximately 540 million electricity units annually, powering over 110,000 homes and reducing around 0.39 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
Recently, in March 2024, AGEL successfully initiated a total solar energy capacity of 1,000 MW at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, solidifying its operational capacity to 9,478 MW. In the same month, Adani Electricity Mumbai issued a tender to choose project developers for the procurement of power from 600 MW grid-connected wind projects anywhere in India.
