NTPC announces victors in 1.5 GW solar auction

Results for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 1,500 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar power projects, tranche II, have been announced. The tender for the project was issued in December 2023. The projects will be located across India. Furies Solren (Mahindra Susten) has won 300 MW by quoting Rs 2.59 per kWh. While JSW Neo Energy and Avaada Energy has won 700 MW and 500 MW by quoting Rs 2.6 per kWh.

Recently, in March 2024, results were declared for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 1,500 MW of ISTS connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, tranche IV. The projects will be located anywhere in India. ABC Cleantech (Axis Energy) has won 750 MW by quoting Rs 3.27 per kWh. While Juniper Green Energy has won 300 MW by quoting Rs 3.29 per kWh. Other companies have won the following capacities: ACME Cleantech Solutions – 150 MW and ReNew Solar Power – 300 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.32 per kWh.

In the same month, NTPC Green Energy Limited signed MoU with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited for the advancement of renewable energy projects and green hydrogen derivatives, with capacities reaching up to 25 GW and 1 million tonnes, respectively, within Rajasthan.
