Vireon Hydrogen has secured a €3.8 million grant from Business Finland to develop a 5 MW electrolyser facility in Jyväskylä, Finland. Vireon has already started the process of developing the Jyväskylä Hydrogen Hub. Phase one of the project is focused on constructing a hydrogen refueling station for heavy-duty transport which is partly funded by a prior EU grant to the company. This station is set to be operational by 2025.

Furthermore, phase two will focus on the expansion of the hydrogen hub which will be facilitated by the new grant.  The 5 MW electrolyser will be installed at the same location as the refueling station, with groundwork starting immediately. This electrolyser will be able to generate approximately 700 tons of green hydrogen annually.

Vireon is a hydrogen refueler of heavy-duty trucks in the Nordic region. It is a subsidiary of  Norwegian Hydrogen AS and is actively developing heavy-duty hydrogen refueling stations across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland to support sustainable transport solutions.
