Vestas has secured its largest onshore wind order, with a capacity of 134 MW, from Invenergy for the Inaniwa Wind Energy Center in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture. The order includes the supply and supervision of the installation of 32 V117-4.2 MW wind turbines.

Additionally, it includes a 20-year active output management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement to maintain the project’s performance. The order is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2027, with commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2028.

In September 2024, Vestas secured its first offshore wind turbine order in the United States, winning a contract with Equinor for the 810 MW Empire Wind 1 project in New York. The deal included the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, along with a comprehensive five-year service agreement to ensure optimal performance and long-term support.
