Torrent Power Enters into SSSA Agreement with LMCL and TU17

Torrent Power Limited has signed a share subscription and shareholders agreement (SSSA) with Lakshmi Mills Company Limited (LMCL) and its subsidiary, Torrent Urja 17 Private Limited (TU17) to supply 8.5 MWp of solar power to LMCL’s production units through open access from TU17’s renewable energy project.

As part of the agreement, LMCL is required to maintain a minimum 26 per cent ownership in TU17 during the power supply period. Additionally, Torrent Power has secured a letter of award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the supply of 2,000 MW energy storage capacity from its intra-state transmission system connected pumped hydro storage plant.
