Thyssenkrupp Nucera has secured a contract to supply a 300 MW electrolyser for Cepsa’s green hydrogen facility in Spain. Under an agreement announced at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, Cepsa has awarded the electrolyser specialist a contract to provide a basic engineering design package and assist in the facility’s design and engineering process up to the Final Investment Decision (FID). The project will utilize 15 standardized scalum electrolyser units from thyssenkrupp nucera, each with a capacity of 20 MW.

In May 2023, Thyssenkrupp Nucera supplied H2 Green Steel, a Swedish renewable energy steel start-up, with more than 700 MW of water electrolysis capacity. More than 30 electrolysers will be installed in Europe’s first commercial green steel mill in Boden, Sweden.
