Standard Energy Unveils 3 GW PV Cell Production Line in Thailand

Standard Energy has announced that its photovoltaic (PV) cell production line of a new 3 GW smart factory in Thailand will commence operation by July 2024.

The firm has been building the USD100 million plus facility at the LK Rayong Industrial City Hub since 2023 to add production capacity for 3 GW of silicon wafers and 3 GW of PV cells. Additionally, the project has reached the stage where equipment is being installed. Following the launch of the PV cell line, work will continue so that the N-type silicon wafer production line goes live as well by September 2024.
