SJVN initiates bidding process for 600 MW wind projects

SJVN Limited has issued a tender inviting bidders to develop 600 MW inter-state transmission system connected wind projects. To be developed anywhere in India, the projects will be set up on the basis of build, own, and operate model.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work encompass setting up the transmission network up to the point of interconnection or delivery for supplying wind power to SJVN. The bidders will additionally be accountable for acquiring all necessary clearances, permits, and licenses, which encompass arranging land, installation, and project ownership. The wind power developers will be tasked with securing connectivity for each individual project. The bid submission deadline is May 15, 2024.

Eligibility will be extended to wind projects in various stages, including those under construction, not yet operational, and currently operating but selling wind power on a short-term merchant basis. Furthermore, SJVN will enter into a 25 year power purchase agreements with the winning bidders. The bidders can propose a minimum and maximum project capacity of 50 MW and 300 MW, respectively.

Recently, in March 2024, SJVN Green Energy Limited inaugurated its 50 MW solar project. Located in the Sitalmari village in Barsola block under Dhekiajuli revenue sector in Sonitpur district of Assam, the estimated cost of the project is Rs 2.91 billion.
