Senvion India has recently launched the 3.1M130 wind turbine, which is now set to begin grid-connected commercial installations across the country. Additionally, it has also been listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers as of April 2025.
The turbine is based on the established 2XM architecture, and features a 130-metre rotor and advanced control systems. It is specifically designed for pad constraint sites, where MW requirements need to be met despite limited installation locations. The turbine has been fully designed, prototype-tested, and certified in India, with over 80 per cent of its components locally manufactured.
In February 2025, Senvion India partnered with Germany-based Voodin Blade Technology GmbH to conduct a feasibility study and subsequently develop, install, and test high-performance wooden wind turbine blades for its 4.2 MW platform.
