Saint-Gobain Signs Renewable Electricity Supply Agreement in Romania

Saint-Gobain has inked a 5-year renewable electricity Power Purchase Agreement in Romania with OMV PETROM SA. This deal covers the purchase of green electricity from wind and photovoltaic sources provided by energy supplier OMV PETROM SA and will commence in January 2026. OMV PETROM SA will provide around 800 GWh of green electricity for a period of 5 years.

This contract, combined with a photovoltaic park currently in the final stage of development at the Călărași glass plant, will cover 100 per cent of Saint-Gobain’s electricity needs in Romania. Saint-Gobain Romania has 14 industrial sites in the country, covering glass, insulation, plasterboard, and construction chemicals activities.
