Rajasthan and Telangana Discoms Sign MoU to Boost Renewable Energy Investments

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) and Singareni Collieries Company Limited have recently signed a MoU for power generation and supply. The government of Rajasthan aims to achieve self-reliance in the energy sector and ensure uninterrupted daytime electricity supply to farmers by 2027.

The agreement marks a collaborative effort to unlock new opportunities in Rajasthan’s renewable energy sector. The initiative aims to strengthen solar energy capacity while ensuring the timely implementation of projects through coordinated efforts between the involved agencies.

Additionally, the government of Rajasthan also plans to develop a 1,500 MW solar park, with land for the project having been already identified by RVUNL. The initiative is expected to attract an investment of Rs 6 billion while generating substantial employment opportunities. The total estimated cost for the state’s renewable energy initiatives is Rs 22 billion.
