The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is set to collaborate with EverEnviro Resource Management in establishing compressed biogas plants (CBG) nationwide. ONGC’s board has granted approval for the creation of joint venture (JV) companies with EverEnviro and another entity, aiming to establish 15 CBG plants. Additionally, the board has given preliminary approval for the formation of 50:50 JVs with both entities separately, either directly through ONGC or its subsidiaries associates.

EverEnviro plans to set up more than 100 CBG plants throughout India, utilising various feedstocks such as municipal solid waste, agro waste, and agro-industrial waste. The company is currently implementing over 20 CBG projects in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab, with a substantial capital investment of almost Rs 20 billion. This investment is expected to yield a robust daily CBG output of 320 metric tons.

Recently, in February 2024, Bajaj Hindustan Sugar Limited and EverEnviro signed MoU to develop CBG plants in Uttar Pradesh. In the same month, EverEnviro Resource Management signed an agreement to produce CBG for city gas distribution networks.

In September 2023, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited formed a 50:50 joint venture with EverEnviro to build additional CBG production capacity nationwide.
