NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has issued a request for proposals to supply bifacial solar modules, of cumulative DC capacity of 1,515 MWp, (comprising four blocks, each with a capacity of 378.75 MWp) having wattage output of at least 540 Wp each, for 1,200 MW Khavda solar project, north block. The project will be located in Gujarat.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes the production, provision, packaging, forwarding, and transportation of crystalline solar modules falling under the open category. NTPC REL plans to fund the project using its internal resources or by obtaining loans. The bid submission deadline is March 5, 2024.

To be eligible, the prospective bidders are required to possess a track record of delivering solar photovoltaic modules or cells with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW or above. Additionally, at least one of these supply orders must have been for a capacity exceeding 10 MW. This qualification criterion must be satisfied prior to the bid opening date. To showcase adherence to the technical qualification criteria, the bidder is required to provide a purchase order along with a client certificate confirming the successful fulfillment of the supply order. Alternatively, the bid submission should incorporate any other pertinent document that validates the satisfaction of the technical qualification criteria.
