NTPC Invites EPC Bids for 225 MW Solar Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has issued a request for proposals for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package for 225 MW grid-connected solar projects. The projects will be developed in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited renewable energy park at Khavda, Stage 3.

According to the tender guidelines, the project entails designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, packaging, transporting, unloading, storing, installing, testing, and commissioning, including the provision of solar modules. The developer will also be accountable for operations and maintenance for a period of three years. The bid submission deadline is June 25, 2024.

To be eligible, bidders must be developers or possess expertise in designing, supplying, erecting, and commissioning solar projects with a combined installed capacity of 40 MW or more. One project must have had a capacity of at least 10 MW, and it should have been operational for a minimum of six months before the bid opening date. Alternatively, bidders must have completed an industrial project, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor, with a value of 2.4 billion in the past decade, within sectors such as power, steel, oil, gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, cement, coal mining, or other process industries. Bidders must have experience completing a minimum of electrical substation with a voltage level of 33 kV or higher, incorporating equipment such as circuit breakers and power transformers of 33 kV or above, either as developers or EPC contractors. Prior to the bid opening date, the substation must have been operational for a minimum of one year (for projects outside the renewable energy sector) or six months (for electrical substations in the solar/wind sector).
