Reportedly, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will waive transaction charges on electricity futures contracts until December 31, 2025 to promote participation in the newly launched segment.
The waiver, applicable at the exchange level will be uniform across all categories of participants including brokers, corporates, traders, and institutions. The actual benefit passed on to clients will depend on individual broker pricing policies. Currently, other exchanges charge Rs 170–200 per Rs 10 million worth of electricity futures transactions.
