JUWI Renewable Energies will commence construction on three major private solar projects in South Africa. The projects will have a combined capacity of 340 MW and investments in them already exceed $320 million. These projects will cater to key players in the mining, data centre, and energy sectors, including Glencore, Teraco, Sasol, and Air Liquide.
Furthermore, these projects together will generate over 1 MWh of clean energy annually. These projects include a 120 MW solar PV facility for Teraco Data Centres and a 120 MW solar PV facility for Sasol and Air Liquide, developed in collaboration with independent power producers TotalEnergies, Mulilo, and Reatile Group. It also includes a 100 MW solar PV facility that will provide clean energy to Glencore Mine’s ferrochrome smelters in partnership with Pele Green Energy.
JUWI Renewable Energies provides project development services, covering the planning, construction, and operation of renewable energy plants. JUWI currently operates and maintains 9 large renewable energy projects in Africa, totaling 574 MW, which generate nearly 1 million MWh of electricity per year.
