Juniper Green Energy has announced the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN for a 320 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project. This deal paves the way for the development of nearly 1,000 MW projects across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Secured at a tariff of Rs 4.38 per kWh, the company has signed a 25-year PPA with SJVN.
This PPA boosts the company’s operational and under-construction capacity to 2.5 GW. With this agreement, the company is exploring more intricate and technical solutions to deliver FDRE through energy storage and hybrid power projects. This project is projected to generate 2,179 million units of electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions by about 2,041,811 tonnes each year. Additionally, these projects are anticipated to significantly improve energy access for approximately 434,000 households, contributing to substantial community development and reinforcing regional sustainability goals.
Recently, in April 2024, Juniper Green Energy signed a PPA with Tata Power to set up an 85 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in Maharashtra. In the same month, Juniper Green Energy announced the commercialisation of its first wind power project, bolstering Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity by 70 MW.
