JSW Energy Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven Limited, has signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited for developing a standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The project will have a total capacity of 250 MW/500 MWh and is located in the state of Rajasthan.
The project will be developed under a build-own-operate model and will be supported through viability gap funding. Moreover, the BESPA has been signed for a period of 12 years at a tariff of Rs 224,000 per MW per month.
In May 2025, JSW Energy Limited announced a Rs 140 billion investment to expand the renewable energy capacity of its recently acquired platform O2 Power to 4.7 GW by June 2027.
