Infinity Power has signed a MoU with the Cameroon West Regional Council to develop up to 4 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035. This initiative aims to meet the country’s growing domestic power requirements.

Furthermore, the projects will be developed in different phases and will include a mix of solar, wind, hydro, biomass and battery storage solutions. Reportedly, the MoU was inked by the Deputy CEO of Infinity Power and the President of the Cameroon West Regional Council.

Additionally, UN-Habitat will play an essential role in the development of the projects. It will provide technical support, participate in feasibility studies and assist in the creation of a governance framework for energy generation and distribution.

Infinity Power is a joint venture between Infinity and Masdar which currently operates 1.3 GW of renewable energy.
