Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) have inked a joint venture (JV) agreement to set up large-scale solar projects in Rajasthan, starting with a 500 MW solar project in the state.
Under the agreement, IGL will have a 74 per cent share in the JV company while the remaining 26 per cent will be owned by RVUNL.
Earlier in August 2025, RVUNL invited bids to set up a standalone 500 MW/2 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) under the viability gap funding programme.
Furthermore, in June 2025, RVUNL issued a request for selection to set up 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh standalone BESS at six locations in the state.
