NYC-based solar developer Hodson Energy has received a permit for an 80-MW solar project in Arvonia, Virginia. The Buckingham County Board of Supervisors voted to approve the project earlier this week. The project should reach completion in 2028.

“We are thrilled to receive approval for our 80-MW solar project in Buckingham County, Virginia. Hodson’s Arvonia solar project will help the utilities in Virginia meet their mandatory RPS requirements and reducing their carbon emissions, under the Virginia Clean Economy Act of 2020,” said RS Gill, CEO of Hodson Energy.

“We are grateful for the support and collaboration of the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors, Planning Commissioners, and County staff throughout the permitting process,” said Kim Jawanda, Vice President for Community Outreach and Development. “We enjoyed the support of over 170 residents who saw the benefits this project will bring and decided to make their voice heard.”
