Alpex Solar Limited has announced their decision to increase its photovoltaic solar capacity to 2.4 GW by 2026. The capacity addition will be in Kosi Kotwan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This expansion will double the company’s solar capacity as their current capacity is 1.2 GW. Funding for the project has been secured through a combination of bank facilities, internal accruals, and equity infusion. Furthermore, Alpex Solar will also begin work in solar cell manufacturing.

Alpex Solar is looking to acquire an additional 17,846.63 square meter land at the cost of Rs 70 million. This land is next to the existing Kosi Kotwan property. Additionally, the Kosi Kotwan site will also see phase 2 and 3 of aluminium frame manufacturing capabilities of Alpex.

In April 2024, Alpex Solar had received orders from the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency for the provision, setup, and initiation of 500 solar water pumping systems under PM-KUSUM.
