Blue Energy Motors, a partner in Essar’s green mobility initiative, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra, involving an investment of Rs 35 billion to establish a manufacturing facility for electric trucks in the state.
The facility, set to commence operations in FY 2025-26, will have the capacity to produce 30,000 electric trucks annually. It will include advanced research and development capabilities, a battery-pack production line, a motor manufacturing unit, and charging stations. The investment is expected to create direct employment for 4,000 individuals.
Additionally, the facility will also adopt advanced manufacturing practices to produce zero-emission electric trucks, aligning with Blue Energy Motors’ goal of contributing to climate change mitigation and sustainable development through green trucking solutions.
