Vestas has secured an order from OranjeWind in the Netherlands to supply 53 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the OranjeWind offshore wind project, which is being developed through a 50/50 partnership between RWE and TotalEnergies. The project will feature an installed capacity of 795 MW and a grid connection capacity of 760 MW, with an additional 35 MW to maximise connection efficiency during lower production periods.
Furthermore, Vestas will manage the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, and will provide maintenance under a 5-year service agreement, followed by long-term operational support. The project site is 53 km away from the Dutch coast in the North Sea, with wind turbine installation expected to start in 2027.
In June 2024, Vestas secured a 144 MW order from African Clean Energy Developments for the Umsinde Emoyeni wind farm in Western Cape, South Africa. The deal covers the supply and installation of 32 V163-4.5 MW wind turbines and a 10-year service agreement.
