The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced that it will lend €390 million to DEPA Commercial SA for the construction and operation of solar farms in Greece. This funding is expected to cover 75 per cent of the total cost of the new solar sites, which is estimated to be up to €521 million.

Furthermore, DEPA Commercial will develop photovoltaic (PV) farms in western Macedonia, Thessaly, and central Greece. Upon completion, the project is expected to add 800 MW of renewable energy which will be enough to power approximately 278,000 households for a year.
