The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has set the tariffs determined through the competitive bidding process conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for procuring 200 MW of wind-solar hybrid power from projects to be established anywhere in India. A tariff of Rs 2.99 per kWh for KPI Green Energy’s 50 MW hybrid project and Rs 3.04 per kWh for Juniper Green Energy’s 150 MW hybrid project have been approved by commission. It also granted GUVNL the authority to execute power purchase agreements with the developers.

In June 2024, the GERC approved the tariffs determined through competitive bidding conducted by GUVNL for the procurement of 1,125 MW of solar power from projects to be developed in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation’s solar park at Khavda. In the same month, Essar Group planned to invest Rs 300 billion over the next four years in setting up a green hydrogen plant at Jamnagar in Gujarat.
