Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) has launched an enhanced Energy Management System (EMS II) to support the nation’s green energy transition and net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2050. This advanced system improves monitoring and control of the country’s electricity transmission network, generating plants, and natural gas transmission network. EMS II includes a solar photovoltaic forecasting model.

EMS II is a real-time operational technology that detects abnormal conditions or equipment malfunctions in the power and gas systems, relaying this information to the Power System Control Centre to ensure a continuous and reliable supply of electricity and gas. The system also incorporates advanced cybersecurity measures, including an endpoint detection and response tool to mitigate malicious activities, securing Singapore’s energy system against cyber threats.
