The Ranchi Division of the South Eastern Railway has invited bids for the installation of 3,029 kW grid-connected rooftop solar systems on service buildings and residential quarters in Jharkhand, with a contract value of Rs 126.66 million. The last date for bid submission is December 16, 2024.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish a deposit of Rs 783,300 and provide a performance guarantee of 5 per cent of the contract value if selected. The project must be completed within 270 days of receiving the work order.
According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders are required to have completed three similar works, each costing at least 30 per cent of the contract value, two similar works with each costing at least 40 per cent of the contract value, or one similar work costing at least 60 per cent of the contract value within the last seven years. Similar works include the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems, either on-grid or off-grid, with or without battery backup, for general use or street lighting. Bidders must also demonstrate a minimum average annual contractual turnover calculated as the lesser of V/N or V, where V is the tender value in rupees, and N is the number of years allotted for project completion. This turnover will be based on average total payments over the previous three financial years.
In November 2024, the Sonpur Division of Central Railway invited bids to develop a 1.24 MW rooftop solar power system in Bihar under a public-private partnership model, with an estimated project cost of Rs 48.4 million, and the selected developer being responsible for operating and maintaining the system for the entire 25-year period.
