SJVN Limited has announced the results of its auction to develop 1,500 MW of interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects. This marks a significant step in India’s renewable energy sector, facilitating the expansion of solar power generation and integration into the national grid. The successful bidders will contribute to the country’s efforts to increase its clean energy capacity and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. With this development, SJVN Limited reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions and driving the transition towards a greener future.

The tender was issued in November 2023. The projects will be set up anywhere in India. By quoting Rs 2.52 per kWh, Solar craft Power India 8 (Blupine Energy) and GRT Jewellers have won 300 MW and 150 MW, respectively. While Furies Solren (Mahindra & Mahindra) and JSW Neo Energy have won 300 MW and 700 MW, respectively, by quoting Rs 2.53 per kWh. While, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited won 50 MW at a rate of Rs 2.54 per kWh. The winning bidders are accountable for land acquisition for the project. Furthermore, SJVN has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the approved list of models and manufacturers.
