SECI Announces Winners of 1,200 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Auction

Results for Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to develop 1,200 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, tranche VIII have been announced.

The tender was issued in February 2024. Juniper Green Energy has won 150 MW by quoting Rs 3.43 per kWh. While, Avaada Energy has won 240 MW by quoting Rs 3.46 per kWh. Other companies have won the following capacities: Asurari Renewables (UPC Renewables) – 300 MW, JSW Energy – 300 MW, AmpIn Energy – 150 MW, Adyant Enersol (Datta Power) – 60 MW, by quoting Rs 3.45 per kWh each.

The projects must be completed within 24 months of the signing of power purchase agreement. The declared annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) should be at least 30 per cent. The winning developers are required to maintain annual CUF ranging between 90 per cent and 120 per cent of the declared value. Furthermore, SECI has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Additionally, under the tender, only wind-turbine models issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.
