PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) has achieved 630,000 rooftop installations, with average monthly installations upto to an average of 70,000 and is expected to install over 1 million by March 2025 and reach upto 10 million by 2027. The key states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh have shown rapid progress due to strong infrastructure and effective coordination.

Further, the subsidy disbursements have been efficient, with Rs 31 billion already distributed to over 400,000 households by November 2024. Subsidies are processed within 15 days, improving operational efficiency and consumer satisfaction. The scheme has simplified processes for consumers, allowing online applications through its dedicated portal, which also facilitates vendor selection, subsidy redemption, and loan applications.
