PM Lays Foundation Stone for Four Rs 250 Billion Power Projects in Uttar Pradesh

The Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone for four major projects undertaken by Torrent Power in Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of approximately Rs 250 billion.

Torrent Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government for these projects. Among the projects are two pumped storage hydro projects, with a aggregate capacity of 4,150 MW in Sonbhadra district, along with a 150 MW solar power plant in Lalitpur district within the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, a pilot initiative for a green hydrogen production facility will be set up in Gorakhpur, where green hydrogen will be produced and blended with gas distribution network being developed by Torrent Gas.
