Opdenergy has acquired a portfolio of operational wind assets from Acciona Energía. The portfolio consists of 13 wind farms, and the assets have a total capacity of 440 MW. The wind farms are situated in the regions of Albacete, Cádiz, Cuenca, Lleida, Valencia, and Zamora. Valued at over €500 million, the transaction is anticipated to close by the year’s end, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
The agreement also consists of a portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects of up to 351 MWp, which are currently under development. Further, the portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects has potential for hybridisation with the wind farms included in the transaction. Société Générale served as financial advisor on the transaction and Pérez-Llorca as the legal advisor.
With this acquisition, Opdenergy reaches an operating capacity of 2.4 GW. Opdenergy is an independent power producer operating in Europe, US, and Latin America. The company specialises in the development, construction, financing, management, and operation of high-quality renewable energy projects across multiple countries. It has a development pipeline of 10.5 GW of solar and wind projects and 30 GWh of storage capacity.
