For SunPower Corp. customers in the United States concerned about their product warranties now that the installation company has filed bankruptcy, panel manufacturer Maxeon is stepping in with a solution.

For SunPower systems installed by SunPower dealers that use SunPower-branded solar panels made by Maxeon, Maxeon will provide warranty coverage support on the solar panels. Customers can find instructions on how to register their systems here: maxeon.com/us/sunpower-warranty

The panel manufacturing operations of Maxeon spun out of SunPower in 2020, and Maxeon has since been operating as an independent company with no continued connection to SunPower. SunPower dealers were primarily installing Maxeon solar panels up until earlier this year, so some SunPower systems may not have Maxeon panels. Customers are encouraged to review their existing contracts.

Maxeon’s warranty coverage only affects the solar panels. Other components, including microinverters, mounting systems and batteries, are not included in Maxeon’s offering.
